An expanded palette of shared finishes brings consistent colour, texture and sheen to bathroom, kitchen, and electrical elements.

Colour, texture, brushing direction, and gloss determine the final appearance of a metal finish. Dornbracht, a manufacturer of designer fittings and shower systems, and JUNG, a specialist in switches, sockets, and building control systems, have aligned the finishing of their products through a shared process. Visible metal components from JUNG’s product ranges are finished at Dornbracht’s factory in Iserlohn according to the same standards applied to its fittings.

The collaboration began with Brushed Bronze and now also includes Brushed Dark Platinum, Brushed Light Gold, Brushed Dark Brass, Brushed Gold, and Brushed Dark Bronze. Dornbracht selects all six finishes from its own portfolio.

Finished at the Same Facility

During the finishing process, specialists in Iserlohn create the characteristic brushed grain by hand on JUNG components, using the same surface treatment applied to Dornbracht fittings. This shared process allows tone, texture, and sheen to remain consistent across products with different shapes, functions, and technical requirements.

“This is the only way to ensure that colour, texture, and gloss match exactly,” says Deniz Turgut, Head of Marketing at JUNG. He explains that achieving the same result through two separate production processes would be virtually impossible.

Across the Interior

A pink bathroom pairs Dornbracht’s IMO tap with a JUNG room controller and push-button in Brushed Light Gold. In a bathroom with blue walls, a JUNG rotary dimmer is coordinated with Dornbracht’s Meta tap. In a pale beige interior, JUNG sockets are matched with Dornbracht’s Lissé tap. All three settings feature the same light gold tone.

In a kitchen with dark cabinetry, Brushed Dark Platinum is applied to Dornbracht taps, JUNG sockets, and a magnetic charger. A second kitchen combines Dornbracht’s Vaia range with JUNG sockets in Brushed Dark Brass.

One Specification, Multiple Elements

The five additional finishes are produced on a project-by-project basis and in larger quantities, primarily for residential, hospitality, workplace, and public interiors where the same finish is specified across multiple elements. Colour, texture, and gloss are defined in advance, then applied consistently across products with different functions.

Once specified, the same finish can be used across bathroom and kitchen fittings, as well as wall-mounted controls, reducing the need for further coordination between the two manufacturers’ product ranges.
