Three openings reshaping the way we experience a stay
There was a time when a hotel was little more than a place to spend the night. Today it can frame the city through a window, host encounters that matter, or offer a sanctuary of calm. Over the past two months three openings have shown how architecture, design and atmosphere can redefine travel. Kuala Lumpur, Florence and Johannesburg now welcome addresses that speak the language of contemporary living.
Kuala Lumpur: height that opens the horizon
In Malaysia’s capital, a city that grows without pause, a new landmark of refinement has taken its place. Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, inaugurated on August 7, 2025, crowns the upper floors of Merdeka 118, the second tallest tower in the world. Views sweep across the metropolis, while interiors by G.A Group balance the warmth of natural textures with the precision of clean lines.

On the ninety ninth floor the Sky Infinity Pool and spa invite moments of pause, while the dining collection gathers Merdeka Grill, Park Lounge and Cacao Mixology & Chocolate, a bar devoted entirely to cacao. Every detail, from art installations to discreet lighting, shapes a stay that feels both urban and deeply personal.

Florence: a courtyard at the heart of the hotel
In the Tuscan capital, where every street carries centuries of memory, a new chapter has been added to the city’s hospitality. W Florence, which opened on July 1, 2025, inhabits a modernist building from 1968 by architect Lando Bartoli, reimagined by GLA and given new life inside by AvroKO. Bold contrasts and tactile layers set the tone, echoing Florence’s own rhythm of heritage and renewal.

At the center a partially covered atrium has become the living room of the hotel. The rooftop garden, with views toward the Duomo, frames evenings in a special light, while the W Lounge brings music and social energy to the heart of the city. Florence has gained a hotel that mirrors its character, layered, open and vibrant.

Johannesburg: a garden within the metropolis
In South Africa, within the lively Rosebank district, Park Hyatt Johannesburg welcomed its first guests on July 1, 2025. Set within a 1930s residence transformed into a hotel of thirty one rooms, the property unfolds around a courtyard shaded by a jacaranda tree, a quiet emblem of the city.
Inside, Room 32 celebrates cooking over fire, while the lounge offers intimate encounters over wine and cocktails. A heated pool and private garden create a retreat where the pace of the city softens. This is a hotel conceived as a personal corner of Johannesburg, an address that brings the metropolis into focus through intimacy rather than scale.

A new map of luxury
Three cities, three distinct expressions of space. Kuala Lumpur offers height and horizon, Florence gathers life around a courtyard and rooftop, Johannesburg frames presence within a garden. Together they shape a new map of luxury measured not by size or stars but by the quality of experience. These hotels become part of the city’s rhythm while weaving themselves into each traveler’s personal story.
